What is the Fulbright Program?
The Fulbright program is a combination of study, research and teaching opportunities created by the U.S. Congress in 1946. The program was spearheaded by Senator J. William Fulbright. Its seventy year history serves as one the nation's first citizen ambassador programs. Through bi-partisan and international commissions and embassies support, as well as strong program participants, the program's goal of increasing cultural exchanges and the mutual understanding of ideas between people from the U.S. and people from around the world are achieved yearly.
