The #Fulbright Sub-Saharan Africa Pre-Departure Orientation was this past June in Washington, DC (my hometown). It was also the moment I knew this was really happening. I had won a #Fulbright award!! I was going to be able to finish my dissertation research projects!!!! The orientation was an amazingly beautiful experience. I meet so many people from around the world. Inspiring people that are going to work on ancient cave art meanings, astrology, fetal alcohol syndrome, translating life into theater, HIV/AIDS prevention, photography, engineering, ecology, and education projects and so much more. I hope to stay connected with my new found fellows and over the course of my year in South Africa I plan to keep you updated on my research and life progress. I want to thank the @FulbrightPrgrm for selecting me to be a 2015-16 U.S. Fulbright Scholar. Cheers, Tanisha |

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in Connecticut. I have recently returned from my #Fulbright year abroad. Follow along with me as I share memories from South Africa, and discover botany, life, good food, and other experiences with a view! Archives
